Some things are just too important to be forgotten

I really believe that the source of many of our problems is that we have stopped teaching real history. Many elementary and High Schools don't teach history at all, and those that do only at a superficial level. Our elected leaders also seem woefully ignorant on the truths of our past, of our founding principals and of the lessons learned from bitter struggles, trial and error and the shedding of blood sweat and tears.
